Launcher 1.1: it updates itself
The launcher got a big quality-of-life upgrade: it keeps itself up to date.
What’s new
- Automatic updates. Future updates install on their own, so you don’t have to keep downloading new versions. That includes the launcher updating itself.
- Safe by design. If an update ever fails to apply, the launcher rolls back automatically to the version that was working. A bad update won’t leave you stuck.
- Smoother sign-in. It remembers your account and signs you in, so pressing PLAY is all it takes.
Get it once
You only need to download the new installer one time from the Download page. After that, updates come to you.
A note on the Windows warning
The launcher is self-signed for now (not yet certified by a public authority), so Windows SmartScreen or your antivirus may warn you when you run it. This is a false positive caused by legitimate behavior — the launcher patches the game process and uses elevation during setup.
To allow it:
- If SmartScreen appears, click More info → Run anyway.
- If Defender quarantines it, open Windows Security → Protection history → Allow.
- If you like, add the install folder as an exclusion in Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings → Exclusions.
Only do this for the launcher you downloaded from this site. The Download page has the same steps if you need them again.
